About Us
Cognita Advisory Group is a global consulting firm with offices in North America and Europe. We specialize in marketing, business development and financing of technology and media/entertainment companies. All Cognita Advisory Group members have held senior management positions for more than a decade at high-tech companies, with a focus on telecommunications, semiconductor and new media.
Michael Metzger, General Partner
Michael has worked on corporate strategy, business development and marketing campaigns with both early and late-stage clients in the New Media, Mobile and Internet sectors in North American, Europe and Asia for over ten years. He served as a Strategy Consultant for Yahoo's mobile marketing and advertising program, and held senior management, marketing and product development positions at Mindspeed, Conexant Systems, Rockwell Corporation, IBM and AT&T prior thereto. He holds 5 patents in the field of communications, and he also serves as a board director of the German American Business Association (GABA) in Southern California. Michael received an MSEE from University of Ulm, Germany and an MBA from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Anderson School of Management. Thomas Richter, General Partner
Thomas Richter is a global business development, marketing and corporate development veteran in the mobile communications and semiconductor industries with extensive contacts at the world’s largest wireless companies. He gained his experience as the marketing director for Skyworks Solutions where he led several of the companies M&A activities. Prior to Skyworks, he was employed in various senior marketing and engineering positions at Atmel Corp, Siemens and Motorola.

Uwe Schwermann, Head of European Practice
Uwe is a specialist for technology and innovation marketing, technology management and marketing strategy including business planning. He held senior sales and business development positions at key players in the IT and Telecommunications industry and led several start-up companies in New Media, Enterprise Software and Mobile Communications industry to succeed in foreign markets and arranged successful partnerships with the market leaders in each segment. Uwe lived and worked in several European countries as well as the United States, received an MSEE and an MBA and is a fellow of the College des Ingeniuers.
